This introductory course gives an overview of the natural gas and electric power industries in Europe. Those who attend will learn the basics of natural gas exploration and production and electricity generation. The course addresses how these energy forms are transported and stored (where possible), quality characteristics and measurement, and European supply and demand patterns and trends.
The course also provides a brief introduction to the way in which gas and power are handled commercially within Europe, and explores the roles and responsibilities of different market participants including grid operators, retail suppliers, electricity generators and gas producers.
This course is ideal for any individual new to the natural gas and electric power industries or an existing participant who needs to understand the basics of the business within which they operate. It also provides an excellent overview for individuals who work in financial, ICT or business service roles and have an interest in the gas and electricity industries and markets.
