LNG Industry Foundations: Physical Characteristics and Processes (LIF1)
Course Summary
Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) is an increasingly important fuel in the global energy marketplace. You will be introduced to LNG’s characteristics, industry operations, and the concept of the LNG value chain. Included in this course will be LNG-related operations, from natural gas exploration and production through to liquefaction, shipping and regasification to produce natural gas for distribution in the consumer’s market.
This is the first part in the LNG Foundations series. There is no advance preparation required.
Course Content
You will learn to:
- Distinguish between LNG’s unique characteristics, its basic composition and how it is produced
- Identify the processes of locating and producing commercially viable quantities of natural gas
- Recognize how natural gas is turned into a liquid state, turned back into its gaseous state and distributed
- Identify the use of specialized vessels to transport LNG
- Recognize the operations and mechanics behind the various processes across the LNG value chain
