This course covers the fundamentals of the upstream oil and gas industry. You’ll learn about how oil and natural gas were formed, and the different types of geological structures where they are found. We’ll review the different methods of exploring for hydrocarbons, and the drilling and production techniques used to recover them. Finally, this course will provide an overview of the key value creation steps in the upstream industry.

  • Describe how hydrocarbons are produced, including recovery techniques
  • Recognize the different ways of obtaining access to resources, and how reserves are evaluated and classified
